Water Truck Driver

Oakridge Landscape Contractors has a need for a full-time DZ Water Truck Driver in the Vaughan, Newmarket, Tottenham to Nobelton area working along the 400 series Highway.

Water Truck Driver (DZ) Job Site Location:
400 Highway (south of Lloydtown-Aurora Rd. and north of King Rd.) Pay:

• $27 -$29 (based on experience).
• Benefits after 3 months
• Company-matching RRSP is available after one year

Job Requirements:

• A valid A-Z or D-Z driver's licenses.
• Must have a good driver abstract. And it MUST be submitted before driving.
• Minimum of 1 - 3 years experience in a similar role.
• Command of the English language. The ability to read and write is a necessity.
• Must be familiar with MTO requirements.
• Must know how to complete and log circle checks as per MTO.
• Ability to drive both standard and automatic trucks.
• Ability to drive water trucks.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Must know how to read maps 
• Ability to work up to 50 hours per week when needed.
• Strong knowledge of job safety and safe working habits
• General landscape gardening knowledge is an asset

Job Duties:

• Operate standard and/or automatic trucks.
• Operate water truck with hose and nozzle attachment.
• Be able to fill the water truck and return to the site safely and efficiently.
• Water plant, sod, and tree beds according to instructions provided by onsite foreperson.
• Work with helper to water required sections in a timely manner and not slow down production.
• Ensure you are aware and informed of weight restrictions. Never overload a vehicle.
• Make sure that all loads are safe and secure at all times whether a long haul or short haul.
• Always ensure that your vehicle is well maintained and complete a circle check including check oil, rad, hydraulics, air, etc. before operating the vehicle.
