Your Role and Its Impact

 

As the Business Analyst, AMANDA platform, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working alongside, vendors, product managers, project managers, software developers, operations support, and other business analysts. You will be responsible for building relationships, and developing collaborative partnerships with other departments and business partners. 


The Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring the ongoing development, improvement, and support of the AMANDA platform and the multiple Business Partners who use the system daily.


The Business Analyst identifies business partner needs as well as larger business objectives that a product or feature will fulfill, articulates those needs to a variety of audiences, and helps the team achieve success.


The Business Analyst manages the list of Business Partner requests and works with the internal team and external vendors to prioritize, track, and action those requests.


The Business Analyst researches new product features and participates in vendor user groups with the goal of providing input to the planning for continuous improvements as well as to offer new features to business partners.

 

Primary Accountabilities

 

The Business Analyst’s responsibilities include: 

 

  • Work closely with Business Partners and external vendors to understand business requirements for AMANDA enhancements and support issues
  • Help prioritize and track system enhancement activities
  • Assist business partners in UAT 
  • Work closely with the Production Support Coordinator to track budget and expenditures for all system enhancement activities actioned by external vendors
  • Provide input to the Product Manager in setting AMANDA strategy and roadmap for the future
  • Help ensure AMANDA software and supporting software and hardware are up to date and secure
  • Help manage Business Partner invoicing and vendor payments
  • Help make key decisions and action plans for business partners with competing initiatives
  • Help prioritize overall features and offerings of the AMANDA Platform
  • Develop a deep understanding of the users' needs and champion these in the delivery of digital product features
  • Develop source of knowledge of business partner processes, user roles, interfaces, business continuity plans, and future needs

What You Bring To The Table

 

As the Business Analyst, you must have a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

  • Experience in business systems analysis, systems development life cycle methodologies and documenting business requirements 
  • Possess strong analytical, risk mitigation, change management and project management skills to effectively support and evolve applications
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written), and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders
  • Know how to remove complexity from services; 
  • Ability to work within a self-directed culture and navigate ambiguity; 
  • Experience working with a variety of clients with often competing needs;
  • Superior skills in root-cause analysis to diagnose and assign resolution of problems faced by users;
  • Superior decision-making skills factoring in considerations such as priority, cost-benefit, and capacity
  • Ability to interpret and anticipate internal and external partner needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Experience working with external vendors 

 

The following would be considered assets:

  • Experience working in the AMANDA platform
  • Experience working directly with digital services
  • Existing knowledge of and experience working in an agile manner within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience supporting a large software platform with multiple clients with competing needs
  • Previous public sector experience in a project delivery role like Business Analyst, Developer, Tester, Project Manager.
  • Business Analysis certification (ECBA, CCBA, CBAP etc.)

Pay Grade: PR 14  

Salary Range:  $2,653.85 - $3,231.58 Bi-Weekly
