Customer Service Specialist / Dispatcher

Position summary

We are looking for an outgoing and personable Customer Service Specialist /Dispatcher who is a team player, enjoys talking to people, is a good listener and thrives on helping customers and other team members. This person will work closely with Outside Sales, Purchasing and Operations to achieve expected results and be instrumental in growing Convoy’s business.

Requirements

• Schedule/Coordinate truck shipments and addressing any issues that come up during transit
• Track and trace carrier database by keeping pricing and contact information current
• Assist in resolving customer issues relating to freight transportation
• Audit/correct carrier freight invoices
• Address and escalate issues when necessary
• Dispatch drivers/carriers on routes
• Ensure accurate recording of arrival and departure times
• Verify customer delivery requirements are being met
• Assist drivers/carriers throughout dispatch as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in service, hospitality or building supply industry
• Excellent English written and verbal skills
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities
• Excellent customer service skills
• Team player; safe, reliable/dependable and self motivated
• Efficient time management skills
• Intermediate computer skills to enter sales orders and cash transactions in company software
• Work extended hours when required
