Job Description An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Support Specialist to join our team of engineers in Peterborough, Ontario assisting in the design and support of custom electro-mechanical solutions for our Naval Defence and Marine customers. As a Product Support Specialist your efforts will support all phases of the product development lifecycle. This product exposure provides expedited system knowledge that is hard to replicate if you were starting your career in other entry level positions. Working as part of a team, the work you will do will affect the design, safety, operation, and maintenance of products designed to last for decades in harsh environments. This position would be ideal for a graduate wanting to gain the experience needed to achieve licensing as a professional engineer.
Responsibilities May Involve The Following - Working collaboratively with designers and engineers to improve the reliability and maintainability of designs -> Reliability, Availability and Maintainability analysis (RAM)
- Provide inputs into the product safety process -> Failure modes, effects, criticality analysis (FMECA), Hazard Log
- Support the long-term maintainability of our equipment -> Support Analysis, Spare Parts recommendations, Special Tools and Equipment, Provisioning Data
- Generate customer facing technical data -> Technical publications, Training development and delivery, Field Service reports
Basic Requirements - A recognized engineering or STEM degree
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- High level of proficiency in English in both verbal and written communication skills
- In order to be considered for this position, you must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada for greater than 5 years
- Must pass Canadian Controlled Goods and Reliability Security Clearance checks
Preferred Requirements - Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics (electrical and hydraulic)
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or other modelling software would be an asset
