Summary

Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the labourer will assist in various maintenance activities common to a surface hardrock mining and milling operation and the associated crushing, grinding, flotation, conveyor systems and support equipment.

Responsibili ti es

• Assist the site services tradespeople in the repairs and maintenance to structures and components of site facilities
• Snow removal around the mine site
• Operating company vehicles to pick up trash around the mine site
• Provide on-site service
• Assist Site Services Equipment Operators
• Assist in fabrications and product enhancements as required
• Actively participate in various safety activities
• Assist in performing Preventative Maintenance inspections
• Assist in the repair of equipment in the field or shop
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Experience, Skills, and Abili ti es

• Proven safety and attendance record
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift50 pounds is required
• Willingness to work in adverse conditions
• Self motivated, team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to self-evaluate and continuously strive for quality
• Good radio communication is key
• This position will be required to work inside the Mill, Crushing and Site facilities or in the field as required
• Must be able to prioritize tasks and keep on schedule
• Must be physically fit
• Valid Canadian Driver's License
• Requirement to meet pre-employment testing requirements

Working Condi ti ons

• Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 7x7 work schedule, 12 hours per day.
• Work consists of a high degree of social interaction with employees in person.
• Regular exposure to multiple priorities requiring scheduling changes and uncertainty in the work organization,
• Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO -TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site.
• Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
