Salary Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees. About The Job In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization and working closely with key partners, the Lead, Desktop Management Services is responsible for supporting the delivery of all end user computing services, including outsourced and contracted Desktop Management Services, for Interior Health (IH). The Lead, Desktop Management Services provides leadership, coaching, education, and consultation on all matters pertaining to end user computing. The Lead, Desktop Management Services in collaboration with technical team lead resources is responsible for short-term execution of strategic priorities, operational project management, planning of system evolution and life cycle activities, and the implementation of enterprise best practices for end user computing environments. The Lead, Desktop Management Services, will liaison directly with various technical and operational contracted partners and work collaboratively to ensure enterprise readiness to accommodate for new technology, while being able to sustain legacy products. The Lead, Desktop Management Services will provide input and recommendations to the Digital Health Leadership Team and other IH management groups pertaining to end user computing services to meet clinical and operational requirements. In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately. Typical Duties And Responsibilities
  • Leads activities and services of the Desktop Management Service team, including managing appropriate staffing levels through recruitment, carrying out performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed, and other HR activities including overseeing daily assignments and approving vacations and vacation coverage.
  • Develops operating plans, goals, and objectives as they relate to the end user computing environment in support of the mission and goals of IH. Ensures fundamental systems are progressive and able to support new technology, while sustaining legacy products and services as required.
  • Coordinates and manages the activities around the end user computing environment, including the operationalization of new technologies and project implementations, ongoing product evolution and life cycle planning, and ongoing continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Leads and participates in committee and project meetings with multiple partner groups to assess and provide consultation on new and evolving products. This includes establishing priorities and collaborating with technical resources and partner technical Digital Health teams to establish work plans and set timeline expectations.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with clinical, business and technology leaders and colleagues to collaborate, share knowledge, demonstrate capabilities and tools, and support product currency and evergreen best practices when applicable.
  • Works in partnership with peer provincial health organizations, and the contracted desktop managed services vendor to advocate for IH requirements as part of a provincial shared desktop platform. Participates on provincial working groups, and direct contractor meetings to ensure collaborative delivery of end user computing services.
  • Responsible for monitoring expenditures and variance analysis and reporting for operating budgets and assists Manager with development and management of capital budgets for the support and implementation of end user computing services.
  • Maintains current knowledge of general enterprise best practices for end user computing services.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates technology roadmaps to ensure work efforts continue to align with industry trends and best practices, and the clinical and business services the end user computer environment supports.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
