Job Description - Leader, Contracts Advisory Services

The salary range for this position is CAD $54.19/Hr. - CAD $77.89/Hr.

Reporting to the Director, Quality Improvement and Customer Service in the VCH Contract Management Office (CMO), the Leader is responsible for the planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of contract lifecycle management improvement projects and training initiatives. Collaborating with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including contract managers, operations directors and service providers, the Leader supports the service and accountability objectives of the organization’s contract management policy and guidelines in accordance with VCH’s people-centred values and focus on advancing Indigenous Cultural Safety, cultural humility, anti-racism, equity, diversity and inclusion.

 

The Leader, Contracts Advisory leads or participates in identified contract management projects, proposes new initiatives, liaises with other VCH programs, and manages stakeholder engagement, communications and quality improvement activities. Key accountabilities include:

  • Identifying training opportunities and leads education sessions with contract managers across VCH to support excellence in contract management across all stages of the contract lifecycle.
  • Designing and composing creative, high quality, interactive learning materials.
    Interactively engaging learners with a variety of different learning styles to facilitate critical thinking and problem resolution.
  • Continually seeking opportunities to improve and standardize contract lifecycle management education across VCH.
  • Maintaining positive partnerships with clients and service providers and responds effectively to service provider and client questions that arise.
  • Fostering creativity and innovation in the development of materials to support the onboarding of new contracted service providers.
  • Participating in or leading various process or quality improvement projects related to the work of the Contract Management Office.
  • Engaging with VCH Operations Leads, Directors, and other VCH staff to seek timely, reliable and consistent feedback on education delivery and needs.

Education & Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Seven to ten (7 to 10) years’ recent, related experience managing clinical services contracts or a combination of education, training and experience. Formal Project Management training is an asset.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of contract management, and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of contract law, bid processes, and contract negotiations.
  • Extensive experience in effectively and successfully managing service provider relationships.
  • Extensive experience in managing projects to achieve results.
  • Broad knowledge of the BC Health Care Industry environment.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills to foster a respectful and motivating environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, interpersonal and administrative skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
