In accordance with the Administrative and Professional Officer Agreement , this full-time continuing position offers a comprehensive benefits package found on our Benefits Overview page and annual salary range of $63,515 to $105,851. Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at Enterprise Square. Position For a decade, the University of Alberta’s ThresholdImpact Venture Mentoring Service (TIVMS) has empowered local entrepreneurs and their ventures, inspiring social innovation and economic growth. TIVMS helps to grow ventures by incorporating experienced mentors from the alumni community to provide advice and guidance. The TIVMS Manager provides leadership and strategic direction to plan and grow operations strategically, researches prospective mentor and venture candidates, cultivates relationships, and leads overall operations with the support of a team of two. The Manager, TIVMS will work closely with a TIVMS Volunteer Board of Advisors to think strategically about the future of the program and plan long-term growth. Duties

  • Manages all operational aspects of the program, including intake, networking events, training, mentor rallies, venture pitch sessions, communication and educational workshops.
  • Involves experienced, seasoned executive mentors, serving as a relationship manager for all participants
  • Researchers potential ventures, connects with the entrepreneurial community and engages with relevant community networks to enhance the program.
  • Works closely with the TIVMS Board of Advisors to shape the strategic direction of the program.
  • Strives for continuous improvement and evolution of the program
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Three to five years experience in an applicable field, including but not limited to entrepreneurship, volunteer/board/ program management.
  • Willingness and ability to advance an active schedule of meetings and events with mentors/mentees and community networks
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning, project management and administrative skills,
  • Experience working with a volunteer board or advisory body
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with or in a start-up environment is desirable.
  • Public speaking, communication and relationship management skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent inter-personal, time management, verbal and written skills
  • Ability to proactively grow a network and seek new opportunities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within tight timelines
