Personal Insurance Technical Service Broker

Our client in the Kitchener/Waterloo vicinity is currently looking for a Personal Lines Technical Service Representative/Underwriter.

Responsibilities:

• Process applications
• Run daily activities while following brokerage procedures
• Adhere to all carrier’s binding authority
• Confirm estimates are accurate
• Applications are complete for upload to carrier portals
• Issue policies in carrier portals
• Process new business policies upon receipt from the company 
• Bill as per procedures from the brokerage
• Complete daily Electronic Data Interchange and work effectively resolving EDI issues as they could arise
• Assist in Broker Management System training of new staff
• Maintain current knowledge of carrier underwriting and current industry changes

Requirements:

• A RIBO license in good standing
• 3+ years experience as a RIBO licensed broker or underwriter
• Thorough understanding of industry reports for example; Autoplus, MVR’s and HITS
• SIG XP experience is preferred; however, willing to train the right incumbent 
• Ability to correct billing discrepancies
• Empathy towards others
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good presentation skills
• Ability to work in an office environment and get along with others/collaboration
• Adaptable to an ever-changing environment
