POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated July 24, 2024 up to June 3, 2025) 

SALARY: $68,556 - $96,644 per annum


POSITION LOCATION: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)

DUTIES
RRC Polytech is looking for an Educational Developer to join the Science of Early Child Development (SECD) team and the Abecedarian Approach team within the Research Partnerships and Innovation department. The Science of Early Child Development (SECD) is a knowledge mobilization initiative with online and offline resources and courses that are used around the world by professionals and students in a variety of fields. Reporting to the Chair, the Educational Developers will be responsible for reviewing current research and integrating relevant content into SECD's interactive and multimedia resources. The incumbents will contribute to the development and promotion of SECD projects, and may facilitate workshops and online courses. The Abecedarian Approach is an evidence-based early childhood intervention that is proven to improve developmental and learning outcomes for children in high-risk communities. Reporting to the Chair, the Educational Developer will be responsible for the provision of guidance and consultation for Early Childhood Educators, Child Care Assistants, and other stakeholders in Abecedarian curriculum development, training, program and course design, and teaching and learning practices to implement the Abecedarian Approach.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Family Social Sciences, Developmental Studies, Child Studies, Education or related field.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Early Childhood Educator II or III with a minimum of three years of experience working directly with infants, toddlers and/or preschool children in a childcare program
  • Knowledge of and experience with Science of Early Child Development resources or knowledge of and experience with implementing the Abecedarian Approach
  • Experience with workshop facilitation and online teaching specifically adults at a post-secondary level
  • Experience with curriculum development at the post-secondary level
  • Current knowledge and use of educational technology (e.g. interactive presentation devices, learning management systems, virtual teaching platforms)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to present in person, online and in a blended format
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience including Indigenous perspectives into curriculum and/or resources
  • Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative research
  • Experience in online course development including the development of learning activities
  • Ability to work in French (specific to SECD position)

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
