The Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services has significant oversight and involvement in the public security and emergency services through its various divisions and operations. The department is responsible for the administration of law enforcement, correctional services, policing and police oversight and public safety. The Ministry supports crime prevention and restorative justice programs, as well as programs and services to support victims of crime, including those affected by domestic violence and human trafficking. The Ministry also coordinates large scale emergency and disaster prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery programs and initiatives.

Your role, as Education Program Specialist at the Public Safety and Emergency Services, Training Academy (TA) is responsible for a diverse portfolio that supports the application of best practice training methodologies in the development, design and delivery of high-quality training programs. This involves proactively developing and maintaining productive relationships and collaborative efforts within the Ministry and with partners to respond to evolving needs and addressing the complex challenges of delivering multiple training programs. The Education Program Specialist works in close collaboration with senior management to develop a comprehensive learning and development strategy and training framework and roadmap that ensures the effective delivery of quality training programs in alignment with the Ministry’s strategic business plan. This includes ongoing review, assessment and evaluation of training tools and practices for relevancy, maximum learning transfer and currency. To enhance the development and promotion of training programs, the position is also responsible for best and emergent practice research and analysis, coordination of subject matter resources and learner supports, post-secondary consultation and engagement, as well as project and contract management. Requirements:
