Mike Mountain Horse Elementary School - Grade 5 Teacher FTE: 1.00 - Temporary The expected start date is August 26, 2024 and will complete on June 26, 2025, or upon the return of the incumbent. The competition will remain open until May 15, 2024 at 10:00am. The School Mike Mountain Horse Elementary School serves approximately 650 children from Early Education to Grade 5. The successful candidate will be responsible to teach all subjects, except for music, and will have a passion for supporting students in learning, be enthusiastic, flexible, and an energetic team player who: Has a strong understanding of balanced literacy practices and evidence that demonstrates these practices have been successfully implemented within the ELAL classroom.; Has a strong understanding of early numeracy instructional practices and evidence that demonstrates these practices have been successfully implemented within the classroom; Has the ability to collaborate, think critically and creatively; Has the ability and willingness to respond to a diverse range of learners and a belief that with quality instruction and a supportive school environment, all students can experience success.; Has previous experience with Project-based/Inquiry based learning Requirements Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate Conditions of Employment In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide: A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver's licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee's legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire Please note that only those selected for further consideration will be contacted regarding an interview.
