Job Description - Branch Manager - Geotechnical (Fort St. John)

My client is a full service, employee owned EPCM company specializing in earth, water and environmental projects. Made up of a dedicated team of professionals trained and experienced in project management, engineering, and design. The leadership team has spent almost their entire collective careers working in the Western Canadian Energy industry in a wide variety of roles.

We are looking to hire a Senior Civil / Geotechnical Engineer or Technologist to anchor the Fort St. John office leading the development and execution of civil engineering services in support of ongoing projects and clients. The successful applicant will provide management of the development and execution of engineering analysis, and design & construction supervision to support various civil heavy earthworks projects including water storage dams, earthen containment ponds, pipelines, and industrial infrastructure. The successful candidate will have the initiative and accountability to work independently and with our team in a rewarding, fast paced environment, and will have an opportunity to join the Management and Ownership Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
• Project management, including project initiation, coordination, and execution
• Assisting in business development
• Mentoring and managing intermediate and junior engineers
• Planning, overseeing and executing geotechnical site investigations
• Conducting site inspections
• Engineering design and analysis 
• Reporting and technical writing
• Site inspection and supervision

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
• Geotechnical or Civil engineering degree, or Professional Technologist designation (Geo/Civil).
• Registered as, or the ability to immediately register as, a P.Eng. in Canada or P.Tech designation as awarded through ASET.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Applicant must be willing to travel to work in the field on a project needed basis.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be legally entitled to work in Canada, without the need for sponsorship.

THE FOLLOWING WILL BE CONSIDERED AN ASSET:
• Graduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering
• Exposure to large civil earthworks construction projects
• Experience with the design, construction, operation, and inspection of earthen dams and/or tailings dams
 

Work Schedule

This job has the following work schedule:

  • 30 to 40 hours / week
  • 5 days / week
