Role Description: As a Mechanical Engineer at Outdoor-Fit, you will be integral in managing and advancing the design and development of fitness equipment from initial concept to market launch. This role involves significant engagement across all product lifecycle stages, including research, drafting, prototyping, testing, and final evaluation. Designing outdoor fitness equipment demands innovative solutions to ensure durability, safety, and reliability. Responsibilities: • Design and create CAD prototypes, test rigs, and final products. • Oversee the testing of prototypes and refine designs based on outcomes. • Collaborate with third-party manufacturers to ensure parts are optimally manufacturable. • Manage and update existing intellectual property, including drawings and designs. • Develop comprehensive documentation, including drawing packages, bills of materials, and installation guides. • Assist with CAD site plans based on customer requests, ensuring tailored solutions for various installation environments. Qualifications: • 4-7 years of experience in full-cycle product development • P.Eng designation with a degree in mechanical engineering. • Strong understanding of exercise biomechanics to enhance product functionality and user safety. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal and external teams. • Ability and knowledge to create high-resolution realistic 3D renderings of equipment and surrounding environments are considered strong assets. • Interest in fitness/equipment and prior experience with steel fabrication are considered strong assets.
