Job Description Are you a housekeeping supervisor interested in developing your career with a large, luxury property? Join our team at Hotel Grand Pacific! An independent full-service hotel located on Victoria’s beautiful inner harbour, we are proudly affiliated with Preferred Hotels and Resorts.
We’re hiring an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support our Executive Housekeeper on a permanent basis. The chosen candidate will help with the training and supervision of housekeeping staff and ensure departmental operations run smoothly to achieve the highest level of guest satisfaction.
We’re looking for an organized and positive-minded individual with housekeeping experience in a hotel setting, proficient computer skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
If your goal is to grow within the hotel industry, this position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your understanding of operations in a large hotel and gain more management experience.
Responsibilities & Qualifications Duties:
• Prepare daily work assignments and deliver pre-shift briefings
• Conduct inspections to maintain established cleanliness and service standards
• Supervise the Housekeeping team, recognizing high performance and providing additional coaching when required
• Develop and maintain effective communication with all departments
• Implement health & safety procedures and ensure any hazards or incidents are promptly reported
• Effectively address employee and guest concerns
• Assist with the onboarding and training of Housekeeping staff
• Assist with scheduling and payroll when required
• Complete monthly inventories
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
What We’re Looking For:
• At least 3 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel, with some supervisory experience included
• Completion of a Tourism or Hospitality Management degree/diploma is an asset
• Proven experience training and coaching others
• Self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude and hands-on management style
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Clear and effective verbal & written communication skills
• Approachable with excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, Word
• Knowledge of Opera PMS an asset
• Comfortable working flexible hours (mornings, evenings, weekends)

Salary/Wage52,000-58,000/yr
