Job Description - Assistant Rest. Manager

Assistant Rest. Manager Location Collingwood : The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible and accountable for assisting with all aspects of the restaurant operation including staffing, excellent quality and service of all food & beverage in a fun and caring environment and the accounting of all financials. Duties: 1. Lead all staff along with the Restaurant Manager, utilizing the 10 Commandments of Living Water Resorts Service Culture Standards in conjunction with the Collective Agreement. 2. Communicate in a professional manner maintaining good relationships, listens and responds appropriately. 3. Sets and communicates clear objectives and standards. 4. Assist the Restaurant Manager in staff scheduling, training, coaching, and motivational development when needed. 5. Conduct daily shift briefings. 6. Provide employee performance feedback to the Restaurant Manager in a timely manner as outlined in the company policy. 7. Ensure all staff has the information and tools required to provide our guests with quality food and outstanding service. 8. Actively encourages, supports and rewards teamwork and initiatives. 9. Assists in the preparation of the weekly staff schedules. 10. Monitors and adjusts staffing levels during each shift according to business demands. 11. Maintain a clean, tidy and organized department / work areas. 12. Maintain all department facilities. Propose improvements to continually increase levels of service or to provide amenities to increase revenue. 13. Assign and oversee pre-opening / closing duties with servers, bartenders, host / hostess. 14. Create a positive guest experience through guest interaction and adherence to the “Steps of Service”. 15. Greet all guests in a welcoming, caring, friendly and professional manner with an enthusiastic and pleasant demeanour. Qualifications
  • High School diploma
  • Hospitality Diploma an asset
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in a supervisory or manager capacity in a upscale casual dining restaurant
  • Passion for food and service excellence
  • Knowledge of wines and spirits
  • Must hold a valid Food Handler Certification
  • Must hold a valid Smart Serve Certificate
  • Knowledge of Squirrel POS an asset
  • Computer literacy in MS Window, Excel
  • Demonstrates leadership, creativity and initiative
  • Working Conditions
    • Works the majority of the time indoors and outdoors during the summer months
    • Carry hot or cold plates / trays of food
    • Must be able to bend, reach, lift at least 30lbs
    • Must be able to walk and stand for an average of 8 hours per shift
