Pharmacy Inventory Operations Leader Location Toronto, ON :

LEADER, PHARMACY INVENTORY OPERATIONS

Position Summary

As an integral member of Pharmacy Inventory Services, the Operations Leader is responsible for assisting the Inventory Manager in managing responsibility for daily inventory operations at all UHN sites. The Operations Leader will facilitate program development, and quality improvement activities within the department, while exemplifying UHN's values of caring, excellence, teamwork, innovation, integrity, leadership, and respect.

Duties

  • Supporting the Pharmacy Site Operations Manager with all aspects of operations related to pharmacy
  • Implementing pharmacy inventory projects and coordinating staff training in operations
  • Provide direct and/or functional supervision of staff including human resources management
  • Maintaining Policies and Procedures for new system upgrades
  • Providing expertise in pharmacy inventory contractual obligations to maximize efficiency of the hospital's drug procurement and distribution system
  • Will be involved in various committees; Pharmacy Quality, Formulary, All-site operations meetings and Safe Medication Practice
  • Performing other cross-functional duties consistent with the job classification as assigned

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from a recognized program required
  • Completion of an advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) or Doctor of Pharmacy degree highly preferred
  • Certificate of competency from the pharmacy Examination Board of Canada required
  • Active Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists required
  • Pharmacy Residency an asset
  • At minimum 4-5 years practical pharmacy experience and related leadership experience required
  • Membership in the Ontario Pharmacists' Association, Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists and/or other professional societies an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to manage heavy workload with frequent changes
  • Ability to plan and coordinate various projects and programs
  • Knowledge of Workspace Hazardous Material Information System (W.H.M.I.S.) requirements, Body Substance Precautions, confidentiality
  • Knowledge of Accounting process
  • Pharmacy experience in a hospital setting preferred
