Seasonal Concierge Supervisor (May to September 2024)

As Fairmont Palliser’s concierge supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to anticipate and fulfill the needs and desires of hotel guests, providing personalized assistance, recommendations and information to enrich their stay. You will serve as the primary liaison between hotel guests and the vibrant city of Calgary, serving as the go-to lobby presence to provide detailed information on local attractions, events, restaurants and services, helping guests explore the city and create memorable experiences during their stay. With your dedication to luxury service, professionalism, attention to detail and genuine passion for hospitality, you will contribute to the reputation of Fairmont Palliser as a premier destination for travelers to Calgary.

Fairmont Palliser’s Seasonal Concierge Supervisor will:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between guests, Fairmont Palliser, and the city of Calgary, providing guests with luxury service before and during their stay.
  • Provide personalized recommendations and assistance for all dining, shopping, entertainment, transportation, and local attraction requests, while personalizing these services to meet the unique preferences of each guest.
  • Arrange bookings for restaurants, tours, events and other activities on behalf of guests
  • Coordinate transportation services, including private transportation, taxis, and rental cars, ensuring prompt and reliable service.
  • Maintain an extremely high level of knowledge regarding local Calgary events, attractions, restaurants, and other concierge related information in the city.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of hotel facilities, services, and policies to answer questions and provide accurate information to guests.
  • Coordinate guest experiences via phone, e-mail, and text, while utilizing hotel software to accurately log and follow-up on arranged experiences.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments, including housekeeping, front office, and food and beverage, to ensure seamless guest experiences in all aspects of their stay.
  • Cater to the specialized needs and requests of VIP guests while upholding high levels of professionalism and discretion.
  • Maintain strong relationships with a network of local businesses, vendors, and service providers to facilitate seamless guest experiences while fostering positive and mutually beneficial partnerships with these providers.
  • Handle guest feedback and recovery professionally, seeking resolution to maintain guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • Adhere to hotel emergency procedures and safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Comply with all Fairmont Hotels and Accor policies, procedures, and codes of ethics.

Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a concierge position at a luxury hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with guests from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and maintain composure in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.
  • Enthusiasm for delivering exceptional service and exceeding guest expectations.
  • A passion for hospitality and a genuine desire to create memorable experiences for guests.
  • Knowledge of local attractions, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
  • Strong computer skills, with experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Previous experience with hospitality software (Property management systems, etc.) is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required. Proficiency in multiple languages is considered an asset.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
