Position Summary This position coordinates all intake and referrals to the Women's Health Concerns Clinic schedules appointments, manages departmental databases, tracks progress of patients through the clinic, responds to inquiries and requests, and assists in administrative duties related to clinical services and research. Duties include reception, filing, appointment booking, HBO Star patient registrations, PHS patient scheduling and registration, and interactions directly with mental health clients and the public simultaneously. The incumbent ensures all related duties and responsibilities adhere to the policies and procedures of the hospital.
Qualifications - Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, plus up to 2 year post-secondary in office or medical office administration
- Minimum of 2 years' experience providing administrative support within a busy, multidisciplinary Mental Health Care facility, with demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act
- Intermediate skill level in MSWord, MSExcel, MSPowerpoint, MSAccess
- Medical terminology certificate, with focus on psychiatric terminology
- Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm
- Clerical testing may be required as part of the selection process
- Proficiency in data entry and the use of specialized computer applications: PHS scheduling software, HBO, Standard Query Language (SQL)
- Demonstrated technical aptitude in troubleshooting and support
- Ability to communicate in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner with psychiatric patients.
- Good organization skills, with ability to set own priorities and work with minimal supervision
- Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships while handling multiple tasks, frequent interruptions and stressful situations

- Good work performance and attendance record is essential
WAGE RATE Hourly: $28.03...$29.26...$30.46 (plus 14% in lieu)
