Job Description - Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Women's Ultrasound Clinic of Ottawa offers women’s health ultrasound specializing in obstetrics. It is our goal to provide our patients with state-of-the-art ultrasound diagnostic technology combined with experienced healthcare professionals to ensure our patients feel comfortable and receive the care they need. Our modern clinics are expanding, and we are seeking a skilled and registered, or eligible for registration, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasound Technologist) to join our growing outpatient clinic practice.
As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer your role involves conducting diagnostic imaging procedures using modern ultrasound equipment while ensuring patient comfort and safety. You'll be responsible for explaining procedures, positioning patients correctly, and optimizing imaging quality through equipment adjustments. Working closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals, you'll analyze and interpret images meticulously, maintaining comprehensive patient records and procedural documentation.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform female and obstetrical procedures using ultrasound equipment.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
  • Position patients appropriately for optimal imaging results.
  • Analyze images for quality and completeness, ensuring all necessary views are obtained.
  • Recognize normal and abnormal anatomy and communicate findings to radiologists or physicians.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide patient care and ensure safety.
