Job Description - Finance Associate

Position Summary:

The Finance Associate is responsible for handling a wide range of financial tasks to support the company's day-to-day operations. This includes bookkeeping, invoicing and accounts receivable, payroll, management of vacation and expenses, accounts payable, and tax filing. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-starter and possess the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Having previous book keeping or finance experience would be ideal, however if you feel you could learn and take on the responsibilities with training please feel welcome to apply. 1. Bookkeeping

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive financial records.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy.

2. Invoicing / Accounts Receivable / Collections

  • Manage invoicing and billing processes to ensure timely payments from clients.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and engage in collections processes as necessary.

3. Payroll

  • Assist in processing company payroll accurately and on time.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of payroll transactions.

4. Vacation and Expense Management

  • Manage and track employee vacation requests and expense reimbursements.

5. Accounts Payable

  • Process vendor invoices and manage payments in a timely manner.
  • Maintain records of all transactions.

6. GST/HST & PST Filing

  • Prepare and file accurate GST/HST & PST returns on schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with all taxation requirements under instruction.

Qualifications:  

Required:

- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic work environment Preferred:
- Prior experience with accounting and bookkeeping including those with a those with a Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) designation ideal Hours & Pay:
- This is a very flexible part time position with the candidate working 2-3 days total hours/week on average and a minimum of 2 days total per/week on average.
- The hours of work can be flexible to accommodate needs such as child care, another paid position, and post-secondary school.
- The location of work can be flexible. This position can be hybrid or fully remote. Preference given to those candidates located in Calgary, Alberta first. Preference will next be given to candidates in Alberta.
- Pay range is negotiable. We anticipate paying the successful candidate up to $25-$28/hr or an equivalent fixed part time salary.
