Medical Affairs Associate, Vaccines - Contract

We are searching for a resourceful, proactive, innovative team player to join GSK for a one-year internship within the Vaccines Medical Affairs team to get ahead of disease together. Key responsibilities include and are not limited to:

  • Being an active member of the Vaccines Medical Affairs team making meaningful contributions towards the execution and implementation of local medical plans and overall medical operations.
  • Support the development and advancement of Medical deliverables across a range of initiatives including medical education, expert engagement, and digital integration by providing scientific support for therapy area products and internal or external needs as appropriate.
  • Support the development of fair, scientifically balanced presentations and written materials to address customer needs (sales training, Medical Education, MSL decks, etc).
  • Assist with internal and external vendors and agencies and the organization and execution of advisory boards/consultancy meetings, scientific training and education events.
  • Support Scientific Advisors in pooling scientific evidence related to disease area, product situational scan and competitive landscape
  • Strategically monitor new literature and GSK global publications strategy and ensure timely alerts and internal stakeholder communications
  • Lead consolidation and analysis of Field Medical insights and trend reports; supporting Field Medical upskilling and workshops.

Qualifications Required:

  • Completed or near completion of an advanced post-graduate degree in the sciences (MSc, PharmD, PhD, MD, etc.).
  • Strong scientific acumen and medical writing skills.
  • Entrepreneurial (strategic mindset), creative, persuasive individual who works well in a team environment.
  • Results oriented with proven ability to shift priorities at short notice and work to demanding deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work in a highly dynamic environment
  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity, take initiative, lead projects
  • Results oriented with a proven ability to prioritize work and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Clear and concise, verbal and written communication skills.  Well developed communication skills including listening, summarizing, probing, clarifying
  • Strong computer skills to work with various software systems including Veeva CRM, Power BI, dashboards, and MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred qualification:

  • University degree in Health Sciences preferred, MSc, MD, PhD, PharmD an asset
  • Clinical experience and/or working in multidisciplinary healthcare teams an asset but is not required
  • Specific training in clinical research or medical information would be an asset but is not required.
  • Bilingualism is a strong asset.
