Job Description - Nurse Practitioner

Your Opportunity: Description: As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. For more information on this union, please contact AUNP: Classification: Nurse Practitioner Union: AUNP Unit and Program: Brooks Home Care Primary Location: Brooks Home Care Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.40 Posting End Date: 03-MAY-2024 Employee Class: Regular Part Time Date Available: 13-MAY-2024 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 4 Shift Pattern: Days Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $62.74 Maximum Salary: $72.00 Vehicle Requirement: Driver's License, Vehicle Required Required Qualifications: Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and a minimum of master's degree. Registration with CRNA on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides specialized care and management of frail clients living with chronic disease and multiple comorbidities in. The NP has additional education and training to provide advanced clinical skills, make clinical management decisions, and facilitate consistent client –centered care as a member of the interdisciplinary team. The NP collaborates with Home Care staff, attending physicians and specialists to acquire and utilize best practice, evidence, and resources needed for individual situations and to make adjustment and optimize program delivery. The NP participates in program committees, quality improvement programs, and may lead nursing research initiatives as well as providing education to AHS staff and partners who provide care to Home Care clients, The NP may act in a preceptor capacity and provide mentorship to new NP’s, NP students, and other health care providers. Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from a recognized nursing education program.
