Position Overview We are currently seeking a dynamic Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team at Wolseley Barracks of CFB London. This exciting turnkey opportunity offers a substantial amount of time for direct patient care, with onsite access to Mental Health and Case Management. As a Nurse Practitioner with Calian, you will function as a vital member of a healthcare team, providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary, collaborative primary health care services to Canadian Armed Forces members. Your responsibilities will include primary care, occupational health, minor trauma care, health promotion, prevention of diseases and injuries, rehabilitation, and support services. We believe in fostering a positive work-life balance, and this opportunity allows for a weekday schedule, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with a designated one-hour lunch break—providing you with more time to focus on what you enjoy. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive health assessments using sound clinical judgment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills.
- Practice autonomously and be solely accountable for your actions while practicing.
- Consult with physicians or other healthcare professionals when the client’s condition requires care beyond the scope of NP practice.
- Make appropriate medical employment limitation recommendations in accordance with the Surgeon General’s guidelines.
- Prescribe medications and order x-rays, ultrasounds, and lab tests in accordance with the Standards of Practice for RNs in the Extended Class.
- Implement strategies to promote health and prevent illness with individuals, families, or groups.
- Collaborate on the management of Members with stable chronic illnesses through a predetermined referral process.
- Refer patients to other providers or programs according to the patient’s needs.
Qualifications - Licensed and in good standing within the province of Ontario.
- One year of relevant experience post-graduation.
- Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C.
- Ability to obtain Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.
