Job Description - Project Coordinator, NCD Construction Management

Rotation/Shifts Days, 8 hour shifts. What You Will Do The Coordinator, NCD Construction Management will provide coordination of files and activities directly associated with construction activities within the New Campus Development (NCD) project. The planning and construction of the new campus, and its sub-projects, are one of the largest infrastructure projects in Ottawa’s history and will reshape health care in Ottawa. The scope of responsibilities will include assisting the Director in a variety of tasks, such as maintaining project documentation (e.g., drawings, correspondence, reports, deficiencies, and estimates), tracking project actions/follow-ups/change orders, and assist in reviewing tender package submittal for completeness. The incumbent will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with multiple relevant stakeholders, including Contractors, to build trust, commitment and accountability leading to results that benefit patients and populations. Basic Requirements
  • 3-year Mechanical or Electrical Technology program;
  • Minimum three (3) years of project coordination experience in construction or industry projects;
  • Experience working with interprofessional teams;
  • Demonstrated leadership of quality initiatives and/or coordination of projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineering, Business or equivalent;
  • Other specialty designations or certifications (i.e., Project Management, Quality Training);
  • In-depth knowledge of hospital operations and health facility design;
  • Familiarity with relevant portions of the National Building Code, Provincial Building Code, area municipality Building Codes and Practices, CSA standards specific to healthcare and facilities, Ontario Fire Marshall's Regulations, Insurance Advisory Council Regulations and industry standards for mechanical, and electrical work;
  • Knowledge of integrating hospital systems with building infrastructure;
  • Knowledge of Ministry of Health Capital Approvals Process or others provincial equivalent;
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: Program Planning, Program Management, Hospital Design, Occupational Health and Safety, Facilities, Building and Infrastructure, Information, Communication and Automated Technology, and/or Quality and Performance Measurement;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
