About the Opportunity

Under the direction of the Manager, and under the supervision of therapists, the Rehabilitation Assistant, as an active member of the patient care team, works with individuals, families and groups to help educate and promote movement, occupation, and function. Working collaboratively with their team, the Rehabilitation Assistant is responsible for the safe and proficient delivery of interventions that have been assigned by the therapists for patients coping with limitations in movement and daily function. The Rehabilitation Assistant also checks and cleans equipment, maintains treatment and storage areas and may order necessary supplies. The Rehabilitation Assistant will carry out home visits with community dwelling clients to implement therapeutic plans established by the therapist.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Grade 12 or GED
• Rehabilitation Assistant Program (which includes both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• Ability to communicate well with both patients and their families and staff
• Good interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively with team members
• Organizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levels
• Knowledge of proper body mechanics
• Demonstrated basic computer skills
• Valid Nova Scotia driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

• Full Time, Long Assignment; 75 hours bi-weekly
• Commencing as soon as possible; ending December 31, 2024
• Dates are approximate and subject to change
• Hours of work may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Compensation and Incentives

$22.84 - $25.95 hourly
