Job Description - Mineral Land Analyst

Job Title:  Mineral Land Analyst - RQ 24–16

TAQA North is currently searching for a Mineral Land Analyst.  Reporting to the Supervisor, Land Contracts & Lease Administration, you will be responsible for all lease administration functions in assigned geographic areas in both Alberta and Saskatchewan.  You will work closely with the Mineral Land Team. 

Your Key Responsibilities:

Input and maintain Crown, Freehold and TAQA North Fee Mineral Leases in land system ensuring data integrity.

Coordinate, prepare, submit and track Crown and Freehold continuation applications, update land system as required and disseminate information to internal and external stakeholders.

Track all lease-driven critical dates, including review and payment of rentals, processing offset notices, termination notices, default notices and non-productivity notices.  Ensure all pertinent information is communicated to appropriate stakeholders.

Manage Consents, Estates, Life Estates, Power of Attorney documents, Direction to Pay, Assignment of Lessor Interest and Lessor title.

Prepare and manage Discharges/Transfer of Caveats, Lease Assignments, Transfers, etc. utilizing electronic land title systems (ETS and SPIN II)

Contribute towards development of mineral land processes and procedures.

Assist in preparation, review and land system updates for NOA’s, Change of Operatorship, and related contract documents.

Assist in review and resolution of contract issues and land system updates.

Develop and maintain strong relationship with internal stakeholders, including Asset Teams, Accounting, Industry Partners, Provincial Regulatory Departments.

Your Qualifications:

A minimum of 10+ years of diversified, hands-on experience in Mineral Lease Administration, with solid understanding of Alberta and Saskatchewan Tenure Regulations.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with CSLand, Accumap, Excel and Word.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy, ability to prioritize and multi-task as required to ensure deadlines and obligations are satisfied.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Graduate of recognized land program or combination of education and experience.
