We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team!

Role Type: Permanent, Full-time, 35 Hours per Week, Evening Hours and Weekends may be required

Salary : Starting at $50,500 per annum. Candidate experience will be considered when determining the starting salary.

Location : The Hybrid Work Plan developed for this role presently requires this position to work in a combination of work from home and work on-site with equipment provided by CMHA. The current Hybrid Work Plan is a required 2 to 3 days in the office (subject to change). The successful candidate will have an opportunity to discuss this arrangement with the hiring manager.

The primary CMHA home office is in Newmarket, Ontario, at 1101 Nicolson Road, Suite 5, Newmarket, ON, L3Y 9C3. However, depending on operational needs, this location may change, and the incumbent may be required to travel to other CMHA offices in York Region and South Simcoe as necessary.

Job Profile :

  • Responsible for ensuring the full cycle recruitment for all types of positions, including entry-level positions to management positions, are being filled by the team
  • Regularly partners with hiring managers to understand business and complex role requirements
  • Assists in the development and implementation of effective recruitment strategies to attract and identify qualified candidates using various recruitment channels and methodologies
  • Upholds the integrity of the recruitment process and ensures a bias-free and fair selection process taking into account organizational policies and legislative standards
  • Develops proactive sourcing methodologies to attract both active and passive candidates and creates a talent pipeline, particularly for hard-to-fill roles
  • Provides exceptional customer service to various internal stakeholders including a high level of communication on the recruitment process and the status of open positions
  • Provides backup support to the Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist as required
  • Collaborates with HR Advisor team to ensure all employment and independent contractor agreements meet updated legislative requirements and reduce risk to the organization
  • Prepares and tracks service agreements, employment agreement templates, and temporary assignment schedules
  • Stays informed on recruitment trends, best practices, legislative updates, and their impact on attraction and retention
  • Acts as a back-up support for the HR Advisors in new hire orientation and off-boarding
  • Participates and collaborates on ad hoc P&C-related projects when appropriate
  • Stays up-to-date on current employment legislation and makes recommendations based on the legislation, as required
  • Actively participates in other committees within the organization, providing insight and feedback

Requirements :

  • Degree/diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • Preference is given to CHRP completed or in progress
  • One year of experience as a recruiter or Human Resources Generalist, preferably in a nonprofit agency environment is an asset
  • Knowledge of employment-related legislation including but not limited to:
  • Ontario Employment Standards Act
  • Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Ontario Human Rights Act
  • Personal Information Protection Act
  • Experience with online recruitment tools and databases is an asset
  • Excellent computer skills required, including Microsoft Office, and excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to interact with employees and managers at all levels
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and cooperatively in a team environment
  • Ability to co-ordinate own workload and work effectively under monthly deadline pressure
  • Strong process, detail, and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, meet multiple deadlines, and change priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
