Senior Electrical Engineer

Salary: $110k - 160k +benefits + bonus

Our client is a leading innovator consulting engineering industry, specializing in advanced engineering solutions for building infrastructure and design. They are committed to delivering state-of-the-art electrical systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare and other project typologies. This dedicated team are looking for a talented Senior Electrical Engineer to join them in pushing the boundaries of building engineering.
THE ROLE
As an Electrical Engineer specializing in Buildings Engineering. you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for a variety of building projects. You will work closely with a diverse team to ensure that electrical systems are efficient, safe, and compliant with all relevant codes and standards.
Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for building projects, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and communication systems.
Manage and nurture client relationships as well as with other stakeholders
Create detailed electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams tailored to building specifications.
Conduct simulations and analyze test results to optimize system performance and efficiency.
Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and construction teams to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, local building codes, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
Provide support and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
Contribute towards business development efforts and proposals
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders, including clients and regulatory agencies.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in electrical engineering and incorporate new technologies into building projects.
Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
WHAT'S REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Professional Engineer Designation with APEGA
Proven experience in electrical design and development for building systems.
Proficiency with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP).
Strong understanding of electrical principles, circuit design, and building systems.
Experience with power distribution, lighting design, and low voltage systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Experience in commercial, civic, institutional projects
Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy-efficient systems.
Project management experience.
Leadership and business development experience an asset
