Tenure - Track Faculty Position in Wireless Communications Competition 548 Department Faculty of Engineering - Electrical & Computer Engineering Dept Posted date December 20, 2023 Closing date Will remain open until filled. Position Type Full Time The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the levels of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Wireless Communications , with preferred emphasis on hardware implementation. Applications are invited from outstanding candidates at all ranks with research expertise including, but not limited to: artificial intelligence / machine learning for wireless communications; quantum communications, integrated sensing & communications; multi-user, massive and holographic MIMO systems; reconfigurable intelligent surfaces/metasurfaces and antennas; RF/microwave and radar signal processing; integrated terrestrial and non-terrestrial mobile communications; energyharvesting wireless systems and their applications in IoT; full-duplex wireless communications. We are seeking candidates who value and demonstrate these in their research, teaching, and service work, both past and future. The candidate will have a publication record in reputable, peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. They will have demonstrated the impact of their research with industry partnerships, with established and respected teaching skills, and with a record of service and volunteerism related to their research, teaching, and/or equity, diversity, and inclusivity. The successful candidate will obtain grants and develop external partnerships to attract research funding for research personnel and infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering. They are expected to be or become a licensed Professional Engineer through the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta ( APEGA, ) . Licensure must be obtained within five years from the date of hire.
