Reporting to the Laboratory Information Manager, the incumbent provides administrative duties including; being the initial contact for patients/visitors; responsible for coordinating clinical activities to ensure the outpatient laboratory operates efficiently; creating, updating and maintaining electronic records, and interacting with various other medical professionals. The incumbent recognizes their role in creating a culturally safe environment for patients, and actively demonstrated their support, understanding and alignment with Yukon Hospitals Purpose, Vision and Values..
Knowledge and skills required:
The successful applicant will have a High School Diploma and post-secondary education in Administrative Assistant/ Medical Office Assistant at a recognized college or training institution. An equivalent combination of education/training and/or experience may be considered. One year of hospital or medical office experience and experience working with Meditech (LIS) would be considered assets for this position. Trauma informed care, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion training would also be desired for this position.
