Job Description - Content Creator

Position Information The Visual Content Specialist is an experienced photographer/videographer who acts as TOH’s in-house visual storyteller. In some instances, this will mean crafting a short form video on a quick timeline, as the project’s writer/producer, videographer and editor. On other occasions it involves capturing compelling still photographs to accompany written content pieces or social media posts. Day-to-day subject matter varies greatly, but the Visual Content Specialist has the ability to bring ideas to life (including complex subject matter), helping the hospital reach target audiences and achieve strategic goals. The Visual Content Specialist works closely with TOH’s Communications team, helping to fuel the creative exchange of ideas. This individual works in a collaborative production environment and is well-versed in giving and receiving constructive feedback. In addition to storytelling, the Visual Content Specialist is the curator and keeper of the Hospital’s visual assets library, ensuring that the communication team is always equipped with the proper visual assets needed to promote, protect and enhance the TOH brand. The Visual Content Specialist is savvy on accessibility laws and requirements, ensuring that our work is accessible to all. Position Information Temporary until approximately September 29, 2025. Rotation/Shifts Days, 8 hour shifts. Basic Requirements
  • College Diploma in Photography, Videography, or a related field;
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience providing video production and photography services;
  • Extensive experience with digital video and photography equipment;
  • Experience working in a project-based team environment and managing multiple projects and tight timelines;
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent software, with a focus on photo editing, video editing and post-production;
  • A strong technical background and portfolio demonstrating depth of experience in photography, video production, post-production and graphics;
  • Strong knowledge of HTML/CSS (WordPress);
  • Highly organized with an ability to proactively manage project briefs, project, and deadlines, and manage media files;
  • Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment;
  • Collaborative in nature and able to work well in a cross-functional team environment;
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques;
  • Critical thinker with an ability to translate overall brand positioning into compelling creative content;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
