AHS is currently seeking an Onboarding and Training Coordinator for Calgary Zone’s LES & Central Portering Portfolio. In this role, you will ensure a consistent approach to hiring, onboarding, and training for all LES staff within the Calgary Zone, working at one of the 14 hospitals or other facilities to ensure a safe, healthy environment to healthcare treatment. As the Training & Onboarding Coordinator, you’ll make a difference by ensuring that all LES staff is properly oriented and trained to perform their role safely and to provincial standards, contributing to a safe, healthy environment for AHS staff and patients alike. Description:

The Onboarding & Training Coordinator is a key leadership role within the Linen, Environmental Services, (LES), & Central Portering Portfolio. In this role, you will report directly to the LES Zone Director as you ensure a consistent approach to hiring, onboarding, and training for all LES staff within the Calgary Zone. In this role, you will monitor vacancies and associated HR dashboards within the Zone to support effective workforce planning and recruitment strategies within the Zone. Working closely with the Director, and in collaboration with the provincial LES support team, human resources, and Calgary Zone Site Managers and Supervisors, as the Onboarding & Training Coordinator, you will implement provincial recruiting and training programs, and perform recruitment activities to support approved staffing requirements and to support both training and tracking for new and existing Environmental Service & Central Portering staff in alignment with provincial standards. This includes ensuring provincial standard training procedures and programs are correctly implemented and will require travel to multiple sites within the Calgary Zone. In the interest of effective collaboration and partnership, you will establish and maintain professional relationships with a variety of key contacts at various levels provincially and across the Zone. You will also deliver and monitor training priorities for LES staff, maintain and update the LES training curriculum, as well as ensuring staff refreshers, recertification and annual continuing education requirements remain current with up-to-date technology and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, health care profession, healthcare management or related field. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Equivalent skills and experience will be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

2+ years of experience recruiting/selection for both unionized and non-unionized employees in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. 2+ years of experience leading teams or initiatives. Training/facilitation with the ability to effectively present information to different stakeholders Demonstrated leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment. Ability to collaborate and build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders (managers, supervisors, human resources, talent advisors). Strong written, listening, and verbal communication skills. Must be able to function with a high degree of autonomy. Demonstrate critical thinking skills. Results-orientated, persistent, adaptable individual committed to quality service that can motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Demonstrated approach to continuous improvement and process enhancement. Strong organizational, planning and project management skills, with the ability to work on multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment. Strong computer skills in Microsoft software (Teams, Excel, Visio, Power Point, and Outlook), Adobe.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five (5) years in leadership role ideally in health care or related industry in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Health care experience. Linen and Environmental Services experience. Hybrid model of Office/Remote can be considered.
