Located just five minutes from Bracebridge, we offer our guests picturesque and relaxed cottage vacation rentals with a variety of seasonal amenities and activities, as well as our own restaurant on-site with wedding, wellness retreat, business meetings, and event venue capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, cost, and direct food preparation and culinary activities.
• Monitor and keep records of food stock and place orders accordingly.
• Must be a on hands Working Chef, Supervise, manage and lead kitchen staff’s activities.
• Notify superiors of any equipment damages.
• Perform administrative duties.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
• Create and inform staff of daily specials.
• Be able to modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (reduce salt, dairy-free, gluten-free, allergies).
• Ensure kitchen facilities’ cleaning and sanitation procedures are performed as per scheduled.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen facilities.

Requirements:

• Proven working experience as a lead chef and kitchen management.
• A passion for the culinary and hospitality industry and willingness to lead with progressive ideas.
• Ability to spot and resolve problems.
• Capable of delegating and managing multiple tasks in a positive and calm manner.
• Strong communication, leadership, record keeping, and time management skills.
• Attention to efficiency, teamwork, and positive communication.
• Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS).
• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment.
• Culinary school diploma preferred.
• Your own transportation and accommodations required for this position.

Certifications Required:

• Smart Serve Certification.
• Food Handler Certification.
• WHMIS Certification.

Our resort is in the heart of cottage country, Muskoka, Ontario. We offer relaxed cottage rentals from 2-12 person occupancy, a wide variety of 24 units, studios to fully equipped cottages. Our restaurant on site is kept busy year round with a variety of events and celebrations from weddings to business meetings. As well as a variety of seasonal amenities and activities.We are looking to employ multiple full and part time positions year round and can cross train if you are interested in multiple departments. We are also willing to fully train persons interested in entering the hospitality industry who have an enthusiastic, hard working personality and work well in a team.
