Job Description - Lead, Performance Management

Join us in the Drug Programs Policy and Strategy Branch, Negotiations and Contracts Management Unit where you will analyze and implement performance measures for drug product contracts management, in support of improvements to Ontario government performance and accountability. The Drug Programs Policy and Strategy (DPPS) Branch is responsible for strategic policy development and oversight of public drug funding including drug funding evaluation and recommendations, negotiations and contact management, formulary management and publication, drug related program policy support and data analysis. • On-the-job training to support your success in the role Effective April 1, 2024 the salary range for this position is $82,217 to $121,155 per year in compliance with AMAPCEO collective agreement provisions. The new rates, effective retroactive to April 1, 2024, were recently confirmed and dates for implementation of the new salary rates are still to be determined.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• Plan, manage, and coordinate data collection, analysis and implementation of agreements
• Lead the conduct of research into best practices in performance standards and benchmarking
• Develop appropriate benchmarking and performance standards, and measurement tools
• Lead the development of options and recommendations, and risk analysis/assessment for new and revised program/operational designs, and program delivery processes
• Make policy development recommendations

How do I qualify?

Performance Measurement

You have:
• Experience developing performance measures and best practices for continued improvement
• Knowledge of procurement policies and procedures to acquire consultants for projects
• Ability to participate in business process improvement, reengineering, and organizational improvement
• Experience in change management

Project Management and Leadership

You have:
• Project planning and management experience to lead project initiatives
• Ability to effectively lead cross-branch teams and contribute to an inclusive work environment and a culture where collaboration is valued and celebrated
• Ability to develop and manage project budgets

Relationship Management and Communication

You have:
• Relationship management and team building skills to establish linkages with stakeholders (e.g. medical experts, pharmaceutical manufacturers, patient groups, hospital representatives)
• Presentation and advisory skills to develop and present options, recommendations and advice
• Facilitation skills and diplomacy to represent the Branch/ ministry
• Written communication skills to prepare and edit a range of materials including reports, planning documents, briefings and correspondence in technical and non-technical terms based on the audience

Analytical and Issues Management

You can:
• Assess both qualitative and quantitative information and determine relevant information
• Evaluate a range of factors such as funding, governance, effectiveness, safety, cost effectiveness of products and stakeholder interests to develop options and recommendations
• Identify, resolve and escalate issues
