Rotation/Shifts Days and evenings, Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts (06:30-14:30, 07:00-15:00, 09:00-17:00, 10:00-18:00, 12:00-20:00).

Basic Requirements - Grade 12 or equivalent;
- Twelve (12) months recent patient care experience as an Orderly/OR attendant experience at TOH, former General, Riverside or Civic Hospitals;
- Or successful completion of an accredited Health Care program with twelve (12) months recent patient care experience (i.e. Patient Care Assistant, Health Care Aide, Personal Support Worker);
- Or currently working in field requiring victim care (i.e. Paramedic, firefighter) with twelve (12) months recent patient care experience OR currently enrolled in a health related course, or victim care course with twelve (12) months recent patient care experience;
- Knowledge of departmental/hospital policies & procedures;
- Basic knowledge of established Infection Control and Occupational Health & Safety practices;
- Knowledge of body mechanics, and safe lift and transfer practices;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to understand, interpret and carry out written and verbal instructions, ability to set priorities, ability to work effectively within a team;
- Basic knowledge of sterility and aseptic technique;
- CPR (Heartsaver or BCLS);
- Ability to cope with change in patient condition;
- Good decision-making skills to prioritize work;
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French- and English-speaking clients.
