Position Summary
Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed casual Receptionist to support the Complex Care department
Under the direction of the Site/Resident Care Coordinator, this position acts as an administrative secretary to the Site/Resident Care Coordinator and provides clerical support to multiple programs within the Bulkley Lodge. This position performs a variety of administrative support functions such as word processing, data entry duties (such as separate program statistics, daily resident census), typing reports and documents from notes. Performs receptionist duties such as receiving visitors, responding to in-person and telephone inquiries, answers general inquiries related to programs and policies, and directs to appropriate department.
Bulkley Lodge is a stand-alone, long-term care home located in central Smithers, approximately five minutes from Bulkley Valley District Hospital. There are 53 beds including two respite beds plus three short stay beds. Bulkley Lodge provides daily therapeutic recreation services. Pastoral and spiritual services are provided by the Smithers Ministerial Group with regular, on-site spiritual care. There is a volunteer program in place to facilitate resident participation in social activities and outings. There is also an on-site, integrated community Adult Day Program, operating 7 days a week
Smithers Smithers is located in the picturesque Bulkley Valley surrounded by three mountain ranges which provide a backdrop for the town’s Alpine setting. The main industries include forestry, tourism, transportation and agriculture. Smithers offers affordable housing and natural splendor that support a balanced lifestyle. The population of Smithers is approximately 6,000, with an additional 5,000 from the surrounding communities that access services. There are three elementary schools, one secondary school, one alternate format school for grades 9-12 and Coast Mountain College.

Qualifications
- Grade twelve plus two (2) years recent related experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities: - Ability to type at 45 wpm.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work with minimal direction.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible to changing priorities and demands.
