Job Summary: Reporting to the Manager, the Stores Supervisor oversees one or more Stores activities such as shipping, receiving, in-hospital replenishment, distribution and transportation in a centralized stores/warehouse. Supervises staff and performs related administrative duties. Duties/Accountabilities: 1. Oversees the receipt, distributing and storing of goods to ensure correct materiel handling techniques, inventory control procedures, distribution and pick-up systems are followed, and satisfactory standards are being maintained according to department procedures.
2. Supervises staff by participating in staffing selection, scheduling and coordinating work assignments, determining training and orientation requirements, monitoring performance and providing input into evaluation of department staff.
3. Receives work requests, establishes priorities and distributes workload accordingly.
4. Ensures pre-determined inventory levels are maintained by utilizing computerized Materiel Management system; makes recommendations to Inventory Analyst regarding quota adjustments, based on utilization statistics and input from user departments.
5. Maintains timekeeping records for staff and submits to payroll.
6. Liaises with other hospital departments regarding stores related services. In conjunction with the Manager, develops and implements departmental procedures and resolves operational problems as they arise.
7. Initiates work orders for repairs of the Materiel Management-Stores areas or equipment.
8. Makes recommendations for annual budget proposal to the Materiel Manager.
9. Responds to stat requests, performing work as required. Delivers, picks up, ships and transports a variety of supplies and equipment by operating a truck and a varied fleet of powered equipment and carts.
10. Works with employees to provide a service to the users within quality assurance guidelines.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: A. Education, Training and Experience
Grade 12 plus three years recent related experience including one year in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Class 5 vehicle license.
