Founded in 1979, Columbia International College (CIC) is the largest boarding high school in Canada. Our Total Care Education provides services that can support international students to meet their Academic, Social, Emotional and Physical needs.Job Summary:The Activities Advisor is responsible for providing extracurricular and weekend programming. The primary focus will be on the developing and facilitating activities and clubs; as well as, supervising weekend trips and excursions. This position is responsible for inspiring and motivating students. Responsibilities: Develop, promote and implement student workshops, clubs and activities Participate in weekend programs and supervise student trips. Counselling students toward earning their Duke of Edinburgh Award. Assisting with a variety of special programs (DECA, Robotics, Elite Pathway Program, Model United Nations) Facilitate a variety of different overnight camping trips Assist in the planning and developing of large-scale school events: such as, Terry Fox Run, Prom 30 Hour Famine etc. Assist with the implementation and delivery of the schools Athletic Intramural Program Qualifications Oversee the safety and well-being of students during programing. Modify and adjust activities when unforeseeable circumstances arise. Being able to promote a well-balanced approach to life in regards to Academic, Social, Emotional, and Physical wellbeing. Qualifications: Post-secondary education Proven experience in facilitating or directing recreation activities, or a combination of work experience in a youth camp.
