Job Description - Associate Human Resources Support

Name and description of the hiring department

The Human Resources Services (HRS) group is responsible for providing support to employees of Bell Canada and its subsidiaries. These services include payroll administration, human resources transactions and management of unionized employee transfers, including eligibility for the Employee Discount Plan.


The Associate – Human Resources Support is responsible for interpreting and explaining the company’s HR policy and program rules to internal and external clients of Bell and its affiliates.


The Associate handles various requests for HRS to manage cheques by mail, employment records and tasks related to changes required to employee files. The Associate provides an optimal experience by being responsible for the end-to-end handling and resolution of simple to complex cases and questions while maintaining the various systems.


The Associate also makes recommendations on work processes while ensuring the situation is resolved and deadlines are met. Management or other stakeholders as required can assign escalations.

Job Duties / Accountabilities

  • Managing mail received in HRS. This involves creating cases in the existing system and prioritizing the documents received
  • Management of cheques processed by HRS; print scan deposit and cheque mail
  • Produce employment records and answer government questions
  • Provide support to employees and other stakeholders through various channels (e-mail calls online requests) by determining their needs and finding a solution to problems in order to provide an optimal experience
  • Identify and assess issues and suggest solutions to help improve our processes and employee experience
  • Guide internal and external customers using various self-serve tools and refer them to the right stakeholders
  • Analyze requests using various sources and reports to document the situation in the case management tool and the various systems to ensure data quality and correct as required
  • Work with Finance to collect and send cheques by Purolator

Essential Qualifications / Competencies

  • Knowledge of English and French required
    • In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
  • MS Word Intermediate
  • MS Excel Intermediate
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, good priority management, ability to meet tight deadlines and manage stress well
  • Ability to work and operate in a constantly changing environment with multiple priorities, volume fluctuations and tight deadlines
  • Ability to deal with and influence difficult employees or customers with empathy, diplomacy and tact
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy for customers
  • Quickly make decisions, identify roadblocks, take appropriate action, demonstrate initiative and judgement, propose solutions and process improvements
  • Be recognized for teamwork

Preferred Qualifications / Competencies

  • Good knowledge of SAP (HR)
  • Call centre experience

Working Conditions

  • Working hours Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm
  • Mobile profile position with 3 days/week in-office presence
