We're looking for a mission-driven Business Partner, People & Culture who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.

Your Impact at CNIB

  • Act as a strategic partner for respective client groups and lead all P&C initiatives and processes.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Coordinator to support hiring managers in the recruitment cycle.
  • Lead talent and succession planning for respective client groups and partner with client groups to create strategies to develop and retain employees.
  • Partner with P&C administrator to monitor and process all P&C paperwork as applicable including monitoring of contract/temporary offer renewals.
  • Facilitate performance management up to and including terminations when required.
  • Lead P&C related research and workplace investigations as applicable.
  • Manage all processes related to current and new employee documentation; liaise with payroll to ensure accurate information is provided.
  • Manage employee relations practices to facilitate communication between managers and employees through guidance and coaching.
  • Update new practices in employee policies and manuals; ensure People & Culture related information on the Staff Portal is accurate.
  • Partner with Talent Manager to facilitating the delivery of training programs as applicable.
  • Partner with H&S Manager to manage end to end process of WCB claims.
  • Support leaders by preparing, collecting, and organizing data through reports.
  • Provide strategic guidance on employment legislation, CNIB Policies and procedures, benefits, and employment standards.
  • Participate in program planning and process as needed to maintain and improve People & Culture outcomes by remaining current on all ESA legislation and changes to ensure compliance.
  • Analyze trends and metrics with the P&C department.
  • Process and update status changes into ADP on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead P&C projects as applicable.

Requirements

Who you are:

Education and Certifications

· Minimum post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; adaptable to changing priorities, deadlines, and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Interpersonal and diplomacy skills; approachable, relationship builder, and able to network with a variety of stakeholders; strong customer service focus.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work with private and confidential material.
  • Professional attitude that demonstrates results oriented.
  • Minimum 2 years generalist P&C experience.
  • Knowledge of various employment legislation (across Canada).
  • Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Office suite and previous experience working with HRIS systems; excellent data entry skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of department and client-group requirements.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
