Job Description - Communications Manager

Saskatoon Co-op invites applications for the position of Communications Manager in the Marketing & Communications Department in our Administration Building in Saskatoon, SK.
Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, responsibilities for this position include the following:
1. Member Communications - Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Communications to develop and implement an annual member communications plan focused on accountability, transparency, and demonstrating value to Saskatoon Co-op members. Contribute to developing Saskatoon Co-op’s business plan to attract and retain Co-op members.
2. Community Relations - Lead the donations and sponsorship program that is integral to our Co-op values. Pro-actively identify partners and opportunities that benefit the strategic direction and purpose of the organization, and develop mechanisms to measure and evaluate Co-op’s return on investment. Identify tools and channels to promote partnerships to external audiences.
3. Employee Relations - Work with key internal stakeholders including the Senior Leadership Team and Human Resources to implement employee programs and campaigns that drives team member engagement, and develops our team members to be brand ambassadors in the community. Works with stakeholders to support change initiatives, internal messaging, and crisis situations by drafting communications appropriate to specific audiences. A key aspect of the employee relations part of the role is to navigate, plan, and prepare the distribution and messaging of confidential information, such as developing messaging on behalf of the Senior Leadership Team and Human Resources communication areas of labour relations and employee relations.
4. Digital Media Management - Manage content development and execution for Saskatoon Co-op’s external digital channels (website, apps, social media, newsletters) as well as internal digital channels (intranet, employee app). To grow on-line engagement and interaction, develop content, monitor publishing and diplomatically respond to posts on social media channels, with messaging that aligns to Saskatoon Co-op’s guiding statements and brand.
5. Internal Working Relationships - Develop and foster strong working relationships with others across all departments and with FCL. Enable and foster an environment of open and transparent communication across all levels of the organization. Builds and maintains critical relationships with Division Managers, Operations Directors, Saskatoon Co-op location Team Leaders, as well as with CRS colleagues.
6. Accountability - Develop and implement annual work plans and budgets for areas of responsibility in coordination with the Director, Marketing and Communications. Contribute to establishing annual business plans for such activities, and evaluate and measure progress and performance against goals and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Candidates will have their Undergrad Degree in Communications, Marketing or Journalism
- 7+ Years of Communications experience or equivalent
- Experience in digital media management, including social platforms, content management systems, and analytical platforms are required
