Job Description - Computational Design Engineer: EDA & Scientific Computing

Job Title: Computational Design Engineer: EDA & Scientific Computing

Location: Cambridge (MA)-hybrid

Axiomatic_AI's mission:

Axiomatic_AI is readying to launch with the aim to accelerate R&D by 'Automated Interpretable Reasoning' (AIR) -- a verifiably truthful AI model built for reasoning in science and engineering. Axiomatic_AI is hiring top talent interested in a future of human reasoning aided by -- not replaced by -- AI, and a future that empowers a new generation of innovators to solve important problems through deep-tech engineering in the semiconductor ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

- Developing and implementing numerical simulations and optimization algorithms to solve complex engineering problems.

- Seamlessly integrating with external design tools like Cadence through APIs, facilitating automated design workflows.

- Applying autodifferentiation techniques to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of design optimizations.

- Collaborating with system architects and design engineers to translate theoretical models into implementable designs.

- Ensuring designs meet stringent performance, power, and area specifications through rigorous simulations and analyses.

- Keeping abreast of the latest developments in scientific programming, optimization techniques, and EDA tool functionalities.

Qualifications:

- Advanced degree (MSc or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field with a strong emphasis on numerical methods.

- 3+ years of experience in scientific programming related to hardware design, including experience with optimization and autodifferentiation techniques.

- Proficiency in interfacing with EDA tools (e.g., Cadence) through APIs.

- Solid understanding of semiconductor physics and VLSI design principles.

- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or Julia, and hardware description languages like Verilog/VHDL.

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and excellent communication skills.
