Job Description - Full-Time Instructor, Nursing

Medicine Hat College is welcoming applications for two full-time nursing instructors in our collaborative nursing degree program with the University of Calgary. Subject to successful completion of a two-year probationary period, this position will be a continuous appointment in the School of Health & Community Services. This full-time position will commence as soon as possible.

A little about the role:

The position will provide instruction to students in a variety of settings including theory classes and on-campus and off-campus practice settings and in large and small group formats. Faculty will also engage in all aspects of student and program success, including but not limited to, participating in program and college meetings and committees, curriculum development, and scholarly activity. We are particularly interested in nurses who possess research experience and can support the program’s expectation to produce scholarship.

Details:

As a successful applicant you'll have:

  • A thesis Master’s Degree is preferred
  • Research experience is preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in nursing
  • 5 years of full time nursing practice as a Registered Nurse
  • Current or immediate eligibility for CRNA registration and be a member in good standing
  • Current nursing experience in medical/surgical nursing or community nursing settings
  • Demonstrated excellence in nursing (practice, education and research)
  • Prior teaching experience preferred with the ability to incorporate theory into practice
  • Willingness to be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that focuses on student success and has a positive, appreciative and enthusiastic personality
  • Strong communication skills and computer literacy
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
