WHAT ARE THE ADDITIONAL BENEFITS OF WORKING AT THE PARK Hyatt Toronto?§ Complimentary meal during shift § Complimentary hotel nights and discounts at Hyatt properties around the world § Extended Health and Dental medical benefits for you and your dependents 90 days after joining § Tuition reimbursement program SUMMARY About the Role - Pastry Cook Some of the responsibilities include: • Consulting with the executive chef and other chefs to plan menus. • Executing pastry orders for catered events and accommodating special requests. • Demonstrating skill in baking pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, sweets, and pies. • Creating enticing confectionery decorations and delicious pastry fillings, as well as keeping abreast of new pastry baking techniques. • Applying classic pastry baking techniques when preparing traditional pastries. • Adding novel, creative, and delicious pastry items to the existing selection. • Hiring, training, and supervising pastry section staff, as well as adhering to food industry regulations. • Monitoring equipment and ensuring all specialized pastry baking tools are in working order. • Maintaining a good running order of specialized pastry baking equipment. • Preparing work schedules and keeping pastry section records. Qualifications
• Refined verbal communication skills • 2 years of previous pastry experience preferred • Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred • Candidate should be able to perform all basic cooking/baking skills • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment • Ability to stand for long periods • Flexible working hours, including weekends evenings, and holidays Park Hyatt Toronto is dedicated to offering employment accommodation in compliance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
