Unit Summary

Our Perioperative Cardiac Research Program is seeking a Research Assistant to join our highly productive research team. The successful candidate will be assisting in the facilitation of various interventional clinical trials within critical care and cardiac surgery. This role will afford an opportunity to hone teamwork, communication, and leadership skills within an academic research environment.

The Research Assistant’s purpose is to support the team in the conduct of multiple research studies. The Research Assistant is accountable to the Principal Investigator (PI) and Program Manager and is responsible for all aspects of research projects highlighted below.
• Identification and recruitment of study subjects including informed consent, randomization and implementation of study protocol (including follow-up visits with study participants)
• Maintain screening logs/records.
• Completion of Case Report Forms (CRFs) which involves reliable data collection and translation into study databases.
• Engage in ongoing communication and coordinate regular meetings with key study specific stakeholders.
• Adhere to all related compliance, safety and monitoring.

Schedule Work Hours

Temporary full-time hours. The position is temporary for 6 months.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.

• Basic anatomy & physiology knowledge.

• Working knowledge of ICH-GCP Guidelines and international research requirements.

• Highly efficient computer skills, extensive experience with the Microsoft office suite.

Assets:

• Familiarity with Epic EHR Software

• Previous experience in multi-center research studies/clinical trials.
