About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a regular full-time Analyst to join our dynamic Health Policy and Governmental Affairs team.
The Health Policy and Governmental Affairs team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by engaging with federal, provincial, and territorial health ministries, particularly corporate members, and their representatives, and with other elected officials across the country. This team also plays a critical role in issues resolution within health policy and government environments.
In this role, you will report to the Lead, Health Policy, but will also work closely with the Lead, Official Engagement, and the department Director. You will be responsible for delivering or contributing to environmental scans, briefing binders, government committee submissions, and other internal and public facing documents, often under the auspices of senior executives and board members. You will provide a wide range of information related to government, legislative/parliamentary, and health policy environments relative to Canadian Blood Services’ strategic priorities. In addition to general health policy monitoring and reporting, a key responsibility will be supporting the Lead, Official Engagement, and the Director in their development of relationships within the governmental and policy sectors.
You will also act as a coordinator/department hub on budgeting and expense reports, booking/planning meetings, and events, and coordinating internal corporate reporting, as required. It is expected that approximately 75 per cent of your time will be spent on analyst activities with the remaining 25 per cent allotted to departmental coordination work.
