How will you contribute?

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Materiel Management and Logistics, the incumbent is responsible for all operational functions related to the asset management life cycle for the Senate of Canada.

The incumbent performs various inventory functions, both ongoing and by request, including verification, transfer of assets, physical inventory, tracking and location transfers; takes stock of new appointments and departures; follows up on day-to-day asset management issues and recommends solutions; prepares activity and discrepancy reports and performs asset management functions related to special projects

Open to the general public to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill future determinate or indeterminate positions within the Property and Services Directorate. 

This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.

Prerequisites

• Successful completion of secondary education or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the duties of the position;
• Detail oriented, well organized, and able to coordinate and multitask competing priorities and timelines;
• Experience in preparing summary reports and identifying solutions in support of operational requirements;
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.);
• Recent experience in the full life cycle process related to materiel management activities such as inventory, asset tracking, compliance and disposal is considered an asset;
• Experience providing guidance and assistance in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures is considered an asset;
• Knowledge of the Canadian Parliament and the Canadian political landscape is considered an asset.
