Chief Financial Officer

Senior finance role with a publicly-listed manufacturing company with operations in over a dozen countries and a 100+ year history This is a fantastic career opportunity for someone who wants to work for a complex and interesting company undergoing transformative change. Requirements: Accounting designation, multi-national/multi-entity/multi-currency accounting & finance, leadership of a team of 10+, experience in manufacturing or a similar sector, IFRS reporting. Preferred: Experience in a public company, experience working for the Canadian sub of a global parent company, Big 4 training, proficiency in Spanish or French.

Our client is a successful, innovative, and complex company in the tech manufacturing sector. The company has around 6000 employees working in 12+ countries. Head office for North America & South America is in Greater Vancouver, with an overseas global HQ.

What- the Role:

Our client seeking a new Divisional CFO who will oversee the accounting & finance function for Canada and 2 other countries in the Americas. Leading a team of 10 (most local, some off-site in other offices), and reporting into the Group CFO (based overseas at the corporate HQ). This is a very well-rounded role spanning full-cycle accounting, financial reporting (IFRS), budgeting & forecasting, treasury & banking & cashflow management, KPI analysis & financial analysis, financial system optimization, process improvement and ad hoc projects. The Divisional CFO will be both strategic/big picture and hands-on/able to execute on the strategy with their team.  The company is undergoing a great deal of transformative change which the Divisional CFO will help navigate with other senior leaders in Greater Vancouver, Canada, the Americas, and globally.

Who- the Candidate:

We are looking for an individual with at least 15 years of relevant and progressive work experience, including 5+ years at CFO, Divisional CFO, and/or Senior Director of Finance level. Accounting designation (Canadian CPA or International equivalent) is required. Candidates must have solid experience working in a complex multi-national company, preferably publicly-listed. Must have experience with change management and leading through a period of transformation. We are looking for candidates who have worked in the manufacturing sector, or perhaps a similar industrial-style sector such as large-scale construction, 3PL, engineering, shipping, logistics, etc.
Bonus Points…

• Experience overseeing accounting & finance operations for 3+ countries in North America and/or South America
• Spanish or French language skills
• Exposure to financial systems projects, such as an ERP conversion
• Experience working in the fast-paced technology sector is an asset
• Multi-lingual- this company has operations in over a dozen countries, so there are quite a few languages that would be beneficial!

How Much:

Base salary commensurate with level of skills, experience, and education, likely in the range of $170,000 to $200,000 The company will provide their new Divisional CFO with a solid overall compensation package, including a performance-based bonus, a pension match, relevant PD support, and health, dental, & vision benefits from Day 1.
The company will provide relocation support to candidates moving to Greater Vancouver from elsewhere in Canada. Please note candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Canadian Permanent Residents.

Where:

The company is headquartered in Greater Vancouver, outside of the downtown Vancouver core. A good commute for folks based in Surrey, Richmond, Burnaby, Delta, etc. Free employee parking.
