The Dispatch Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and scheduling the transportation of containers and trailers by truck. They must ensure that all shipments are delivered on time and in accordance with customer requirements, and internal, federal, and provincial transportation safety regulations. Dispatch Coordinators communicate with truck drivers and customers to ensure that service is executed as planned. The Dispatch Coordinator is expected to actively participate in the planning process, monitor equipment dwell time, coordinate maintenance and repair for equipment, monitor driver hours of service and driver vehicle inspection reports for compliance and other tasks as necessary. This is an important position that requires strong organizational and communication skills. A successful Dispatch Coordinator must be able to work well under pressure and be able to multitask effectively.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a trucking dispatch environment

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of BC container trucking industry

• Knowledge of federal and provincial transportation safety regulations

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications, strong technical aptitude to apply to in-house software

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Attention to detail

• Flexibility to work long hours and weekends, and around break times

• Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick decisions

• Knowledge of BC lower mainland geography

Salary Range $60,000 - $65,000 per annum
